Title: Gifted Hands : The Ben Carson Story

Summary:

This story was about  the life of a boy name Ben Carson. Ben grew up in Detroit with his mother and two brothers.

Ben's mother only had a third grade education. With his mother's constant encouragement, Ben thought that he could do anything he choose to do. Both of Ben's parents came from a big family, Ben's mom had twenty three siblings, and father grew up with thirteen siblings.

While growing up Ben and his two brothers where not allowed to attend any activities with there friends. Ben and his family moved to Boston in 1959, at the age of ten Ben became interested in Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Ben got accepted at Yale University, in the fall of 1969. In 1973 he graduated from Yale with high honors.  While going to Yale Ben met Cindy, and they later got married. Ben then moved on to medical school, he attended Johns Hopkins Medical School, where he studied neurosurgery from 1978 to 1981.

Ben became a well know doctor, He was the first to separate a set of twins, which were joined at the skull. The twenty hour operation was a success thanks to Ben Carson.

Ben is recognized for his academic and medical achievements, instead of being a sport star or entertainer.
